Rural Substance Use Disorder Prevalence and Treatment Access: A Chartbook

Project funded:
September 2024
Anticipated completion date:
June 2026

Substance use disorders (SUDs) are of significant concern to the health and well-being of rural populations and communities. While multiple studies have identified generally similar rates of SUD for rural and urban populations, and others have noted barriers to rural SUD treatment access, there is a need for updated and more comprehensive data. This project will produce a chartbook on rural SUD prevalence and perceived access to screening, treatment, and recovery resources.
