An Updated Model of Rural Hospital Financial Distress

In fall 2024, the North Carolina Rural Health Research Program completed a study modeling financial distress among rural hospitals, "An Updated Model of Rural Hospital Financial Distress." The model updates a 2016 version, by adding recent changes in the operating environment. Both versions were developed to predict the probability of financial distress and closure among rural hospitals.
