Rural Health Clinic Colorectal Cancer Screening Toolkits
These toolkits provide guidance to Rural Health Clinics interested in implementing evidence-based strategies to improve colorectal cancer screening for their patient population. Colorectal cancer statistics and risk factors are presented by Dr. Whitney Zahnd. The United States Preventive Services Task Force's evidence-based guidelines for preventive services for colorectal cancer are included in these toolkits, along with a video summary of these guidelines presented by Dr. Jan Eberth. The toolkits include the steps a clinic can take to implement Evidence Based Interventions (EBIs). Pam Gillam, Director of the University of South Carolina's Center for Applied Research Evaluation, presents details on creating process maps for clinical care. Highlighted in the toolkits are lessons learned from the implementation of EBIs by Fairfield Medical Associates, a partner in this research. Additional resources on colorectal cancer screening are also made available.
