This project has three components. The first component of the project is to continue Evidence Based Tele-Behavioral Health Network Program and Substance Abuse Treatment Telehealth Network Grant Program (EB THNP/SAT TNGP) data collection. Given the prevalence of behavioral health conditions in the U.S. and the applications of telehealth services addressing this need, efforts to collect data on a common set of measures are timely and will contribute to establishing the evidence base examining the effectiveness of telehealth services.

The second component of the project is to continue school-based telehealth research efforts by publishing findings from the School Based Telehealth Network Grant Program (SB TNGP) dataset assembled by the Rural Telehealth Research Center. Grants awarded to expand telehealth in school-based settings through the SB TNGP helped to significantly expand the availability and use of these services. This project component will help contribute to the evidence base for school-based telehealth across multiple service delivery models.

The third component of the project is to identify candidate data elements for a new Evidence Based Telehealth Network Grant Program (EB TNGP) activity. This component is designed to expand the evidence base for a new evidence-based telehealth focus area to be identified by the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy. The statement of the problem and policy relevance will become apparent when the focus area is identified.
