About the Research Center

RTEC's research portfolio encompasses the evaluation of digital health solutions from efficacy and financial perspectives. In effect, these evaluation findings give rural providers a roadmap to weave these ideologies and technologies into their practice while giving policymakers key points needed for focus and funding to advance telehealth in rural America.

RTEC's focus is to evaluate the financial viability of small rural hospitals and the overall access to, and quality of, health care in rural areas, including for behavioral health. The Center will establish and maintain a clearinghouse to collect and disseminate information on rural health care issues and innovative approaches to the delivery of health care in rural areas, specifically through the use of digital health.
