For this project we will create a monograph that uses maps to illustrate population location and changes at both the state and national level, and overlays these changes with provider supply. Using the 1990 and the 2000 census, we will describe the current rural population and changes in population over the last decade. We will also describe the location of rural minority populations, and how that has changed in the last ten years. These data will allow individuals who design policies and interventions to target their efforts more effectively. In addition, the maps created for the monograph will be available on the NC Rural Health Research Program Web site.
