This project extends existing work on the analysis of options for criteria to determine underservice. The research will:

  • Complete additional analyses of options for revisions to the criteria for designation of Medically Underserved Areas and Health Professional Shortage Areas;
  • Develop a design for a national primary care workforce database; and
  • Provide assistance to the Federal Bureau of Primary Health Care and the Federal Bureau of Health Professions in their partnership agreement with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.
