Formation of Integrated Rural Health Networks
The interest in rural health network development among providers and policymakers is increasing with substantial support from federal and state government and private foundations. This project is a follow-up to a previous national study of rural health networks completed in 1996. We will track the development of networks identified in 1996 and networks created since that time. New areas included in the survey are Medicare risk contracting arrangements; member participation in shared or arranged clinical services; amounts of managed care revenues and member payment programs; and managed care information and management systems development.
