This cooperative agreement between ORHP and the Rural Policy Research Institute is intended to inform policy makers, community leaders, health care providers, and other rural leaders about health and human services policy issues. In particular, the program focuses on issues associated with health and human services integration, health workforce development, and overarching issues arising from health care reform and their impact on rural areas and community health. The purpose for all this work is to improve the health and quality of life of rural people and places through effective public policy. The current debate regarding health reform is an opportunity to employ a policy framework that encompasses a range of activities in health and human services.
