Rural Health Research Centers for a four-year period. Recipients of cooperative agreements/grants will conduct and disseminate research to inform decision-makers about problems that rural communities face in assuring access to quality health care for their residents. Approximately $4 million is expected to be available to fund up to six new awards, with a maximum amount per award of $660,000. Applications are due April 14, 2008 and awards will be made by the September 1, 2008 start date. Targeted Rural Health Research Grant funding is available. Recipients of grants will conduct and disseminate policy-relevant research on issues of national significance in the area of rural health services as they relate to the following topic areas: Rural Health Clinics, Frontier Health Service Delivery, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Rural Health Leadership, Allied Health Workforce, and Public Health. Approximately $750,000 is expected to be available to fund up to five new awards, with a maximum amount per award of $150,000.
